Experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the renewables and environment industry.
Carlo founded OTAGO PTE. LTD. in April 2018, after his successful entrepreneurial experience as owner of Khmer Green Charcoal (KGC) in Cambodia, which started in 2012.
In 2003 Carlo graduated with honors at the Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Tor Vergata University of Rome and then started his professional career in the consulting business, working for INNOVA S.p.A. in Italy.
In 2005 he moved to Boston to open and become the CEO of the US branch of the INNOVA group. While working there, he developed vast experience working on international technology transfer projects between the United States, Europe, and Latin America. In 2008 he resigned from INNOVA, working full time to open his own high-tech start-up company, which didn’t turn out as expected. Â
Therefore in 2009, Carlo took a sabbatical, traveling around the world, and ended his trip to Cambodia, where he decided to engage in some volunteering work.
In 2010 he started leveraging his engineering skills and management experience, working as a consultant for international organizations and NGOs in Cambodia. This is how Carlo got to know Khmer Green Charcoal and took over in 2012.
In 2022 Carlo was awarded “Cavaliere dell’ Ordine Della Stella d’Italia” by Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy. The title recognizes Carlo’s entrepreneurial endeavors in sustainable green energy in Cambodia and Southeast Asia. It is also appreciative of Carlo’s support in building commercial bridges between Italy and Cambodia.
