With Exercise 4 by Metaestetica Lab, the Italian Carlo Santoro has been selected for the first edition of Penh Art. The jury highlighted the experimentation and interactive aspects of his proposed work.
The works of 36 selected artists, 18 Cambodian and 18 foreign, will be exhibited at the Phnom Penh Factory.
Carlo Santoro has distinguished himself as the only Italian representative.
PENH ART is an artist-run contemporary art fair created to give visibility to the emergent generation of artists in Cambodia, bringing together contemporary artists expressing original ideas through diverse mediums such as installation, video-art, photography, digital art, contemporary painting or performance art.
This first-time initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts as well as with the National Museum of Cambodia
It will take place by the end of April 2021 and for one month it will open doors to exhibitions and events such as debates and tours with the artists, networking events and school field visits, workshops, etc.
The festival will close with the launch of this edition’s official catalog and an award ceremony celebrating the best artwork and best emergent young artists.
